She was previously a manager at Arizona Bread Company.Alisa Sloan, special sections editor of Jewish News, has accepted a position as content editor for drweil.com. She has been with Jewish News for 2 1/2 years. Business Volunteers for the Arts named winners of the BVA Arts Awards at the organization's 13th annual breakfast. Wells Fargo Bank was named Large Business Partner of the Year. Senator Carolyn Allen was named Arts Advocate of the Year. Free Arts of Arizona was named Arts Organization of the Year. Business Volunteer of the Year is Sherry Dudley and Ann Ryan was named Arts Volunteer of the Year. Jolta Java is accepting donations for the Thomas J. Pappas School for Homeless Children. Russel Roderick, DMD, of Scottsdale has received the Fellowship award from The Academy of General Dentistry in recognition of excellence and dedication to his profession. John Upton Jr., DDS, of Glendale received the Mastership award from the AGD in recognition of his professional excellence. Maestro Joel Revzen has been named artistic director of Arizona Opera.
