Dell Herts has been named marketing director for Dead Duck Productions.

Neal Burgis, Ph.D., has been hired as a consultant for Counseling & Consulting Services, Inc. in Tucson.

Carrie Martz has been named 2003-2004 chairperson of the board for Phoenix Suns Charities, marking the first time a woman has held the top position in the foundation's 16-year history.

Elaine Maimon, provost of Arizona State University West, has been named to the board of directors of Valley of the Sun United Way. She will serve a three-year term.

News Channel 3 has been honored in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's 24th annual Broadcast Journalism Awards. The station received a Bronze Award in the MDA Telethon Feature category for its entry, "A Visit with Adam Zart."

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is celebrating its 40th anniversary through Aug. 24. Customers can buy 40-cent cups of coffee at all company locations.

Nominees for the Business Volunteer for the Arts Awards have been announced. Nominees are Harris Bank and Trust, Salt River Project, Scottsdale Tribune, Wells Fargo Bank of Arizona and 1-800-FLOWERS, in the large business partner category.

In the small business partner category, nominees are Essence Catering, Molina Fine Jewelers and Vertigo Interactive Design, Inc.

The Arizona Art Alliance, Challenger Space Center, Free Arts of Arizona, Herberger Theatre Center and Phoenix Museum of History have been nominated in the Arts Organization of the Year Category. Arts Advocate of the Year nominees are Senator Carolyn Allen, Mary Daisy, Ellen Kaye Dean, Kevin Ellsworth and Student Researchers.

Arts Volunteer of the Year nominees are Dieter Bollmann, Monica Lee Goddard, Randy Kemp, Helen Pugh, Keith Ritchie and Ann Ryan. Business Volunteer of the Year nominees are Bill Beamon, Sherry Dudley, Carolyn Kerr, Tamera Skrovan and Mary Ann Ward.
