Valley man specializes in stopping stink

Summer in Arizona is synonymous with sweat. And sweat, as most Valley residents know, can lead to foul body odor - and it doesn't stop there. Litter boxes, mildew that grows under the leaky washing machine and the fast-food containers forgotten in the backseat of the car can all lead to unpleasant (and sometimes nauseating) smells. But one Valley man claims he has found the answer to anyone's stink- related hassles.

Barry Reifman, president and owner of No Stink, Inc., specializes in odor-eliminating products for the home, pets and humans with foot odor.

"We have 100-percent natural odor eliminators with no chemicals and no perfumes," says Reifman. "You can eat them and they won't hurt you."

Ingesting Reifman's products, however, is not necessary. No Stink, Inc. offers three main products that require little more than a sprinkle.

"We have a pet powder that goes on the pet or in the litter box," he says. "We also have an all-purpose granule that can be sprinkled on any type of floors or hard surface, indoors or outdoors, to take away odors such as smoke, pet urine and mildew. You can even use it in your wash." Reifman also recommends the powder for cars, trucks, boats, RVs or any surface that may need a fresher smell.

The final product is a powder for human feet that keeps the shoes and feet dry and odor-free. Reifman claims the product is strong enough to be used by the Phoenix Suns, but gentle enough for his infant granddaughter.

No Stink, Inc. recently introduced two new products to the smell-free market: pouches full of his odor-eliminating product to be hung in hampers, closets or refrigerators and kitty litter in which every granule contains the odor-eliminating product.

"We don't just sprinkle the product in the box, shake three times and hope for the best," reveals Reifman. "Every granule has the product built in to it."

Reifman's product brand, ODORZOUT, is available at Petsmart locations in the United States and Canada. Products are also available at a variety of stores that can be found on the company's Web site, www.88stink.com.

ODORZOUT products are also promoted by Linda Cobb, "The Queen of Clean."

"We are the second product she has endorsed in 17 years and the first to receive her seal of approval," says Reifman. "We are mentioned in every one of her books and in her television and radio appearances."

The "Queen" has promoted the product on Good Morning Arizona and on the Beth & Bill radio show on KESZ-FM 99.9.

Reifman, a Valley resident for 23 years, recently expanded his business by moving into a 26,000-square-foot facility in North Phoenix. He has been the owner and president of the company for 10 years, and has been involved in the pet business on and off since the 1970s.

"We made something from nothing and it took 10 years of work and perseverance," he says. "Things are just turning around now. We are extremely proud."

Reifman and his wife, JoAnne, live in Phoenix. He has two adult children, Stacy, 26 and Shoshanna, 24. He also serves on the board of directors for FACES, Friends of Animal Care and Control.
