Faune Rochelle Williams, daughter of Laurie and Mark Williams of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah May 24, 2003, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Paula and George Williams of Plain City, Ohio; Esther Tanner of Lynbrook, N.Y.; and the late Murray Tanner.

Great-grandparents are the late Fannie and Harry Tanenbaum; and the late Thelma and Paul Haynes.

Faune attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include gymnastics, track and choir.



Ellyn Celia Korn, daughter of Amy and Ronald Korn of Paradise Valley, became a bat mitzvah May 17, 2003, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Sidney Korn of Denver; Leo Calmenson of Scottsdale; the late Ann Korn; and the late Beatrice Calmenson.

Ellyn attends Pardes Jewish Middle School. Her hobbies include playing the piano, horseback riding, hiking and participating in the chess club at school.

For her mitzvah project, Ellyn raised money for MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger.



Lyndsi Rae Sherman, daughter of Randi and Dave Sherman of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah May 24, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Phyllis Friedel of Paradise Valley; Barbara Sherman of San Francisco; the late C. Laurence Sherman; and the late Leonard Friedel.

Lyndsi attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include swimming, reading, bike riding and listening to music.

For her mitzvah project, Lyndsi collected, purchased and donated items to Phoenix Children's Hospital Pediatric Outpatient Clinic's Healthy Steps program and the Reach Out and Read program.



Sheri Beth Gitelson, daughter of Elisa and Richard Gitelson of Glendale, will become a bat mitzvah May 24, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Mickey and Richard Kleiman of Waco, Texas; and the late Bluma and Harry Gitelson.

Great-grandparents are the late Fanny and Jack Kahn.

Sheri attends Desert Valley Elementary School. Her hobbies include basketball, swimming, reading and going to the mall.

For her mitzvah project, Sheri volunteered for the Fairy Godmothers Prom Dress Giveaway 2003. She distributed fliers and collected dresses to give to girls who can't afford their own prom dresses.



Michelle Lauren Pienknagura, daughter of Gloria and Jose Pienknagura of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah May 24, 2003, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Mery and Efrain Pienknagura of Paradise Valley; Emily Jirgen of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; and Victor Zveige of Phoenix.

Great-grandparents are Gusta Suster of Miami Beach, Fla.; the late Julio Suster; and the late Anna and Janis Turkupolis.

Michelle attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include dancing, soccer, participating in the National Charity League and sports.

For her mitzvah project, Michelle volunteered at St. Mary's Food Bank, the United Methodist Outreach Ministry and Phoenix Children's Hospital.



Aimee Ertl, daughter of Ivy and Larry Ertl of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah May 24, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are Joyce and Karl Ertl of Crete, Ill.; Ella Davis of Paradise Valley; and Arnold Davis of Phoenix.

Aimee attends Altadena Middle School. Her hobbies include participating on her school's dance team.

For her mitzvah project, Aimee collected tzedakah donations for breast cancer.



Naomi Ilana Tasky, daughter of Gail and Gary Tasky of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah May 24, 2003, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Rhoda and Maerit Kallet of Tucson; Lillian Tasky of Phoenix; and the late Marvin Tasky.

Naomi attends Explorer Middle School. Her hobbies include volleyball, chorus, dance and working on the school yearbook staff.

For her mitzvah project, Naomi sewed dolls for Phoenix Children's Hospital.



Adam Michael Olshansky, son of Linda and Harold Olshansky of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah May 24, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Doris and Ralph Grossbart of Las Vegas; and the late Helen and Albert Olshansky.

Adam attends Mountainside Middle School. His hobbies include chess, karate and playing the clarinet.

For his mitzvah project, Adam helped decorate the Watkins Homeless Shelter on Christmas Eve and helped serve meals.

He also participated in a walk-a-thon, Relay for Life and helped raise money for various charities.
