B'nai Mitzvah
Scott Julian Rushefsky, son of Karen and Glen Rushefsky of Chandler, will become a bar mitzvah May 16, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.
Grandparents are Arlene and Dan Rushefsky of Chandler; Margaret Satornino of Orlando, Fla.; Joe Benvenuto of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and the late Marie Benvenuto.
Great-grandparents are Ruby Dana of Levittown, N.Y.; and Renee Weigel of Wilmington, Del.
Scott attends Pueblo Middle School. His hobbies include collecting baseball cards, playing baseball and riding a go-ped.
For his mitzvah project, Scott volunteered for the American Red Cross.
Melissa Anne Koblenz, daughter of Cynthia Koblenz and Scott Koblenz, both of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah May 17, 2003, at Temple Chai.
Grandparents are Jacqueline and Sherwood Koblenz and Lillian Matican, all of Scottsdale; and the late Roslyn and Stan Matican.
Melissa attends Copper Ridge Middle School. Her hobbies include cheerleading, dancing, gymnastics, playing the violin, singing, art and drama.
For her mitzvah project, Melissa collected toiletries for Hadassah for donations to the needy. She also handed out blankets to homeless people in Phoenix.
Hannah JoAnn Hopp, daughter of Teri and Abraham Barton of Chandler and Jeffrey Hopp of Tempe, will become a bat mitzvah May 17, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.
Grandparents are Betty and George Barton of Vancouver, Wash.; Carole O'Day of Mesa; and the late Joanne and Louis Hopp.
Great-grandparents are the late Esther and Max Gussis.
Hannah attends Hendrix Junior High School. Her hobbies include drawing, reading, writing short stories and anime art.
For her mitzvah project, Hannah donated money and toys to Crisis Nursery.

Grandparents are the late Marion and Louis Sokolinsky; and the late Marjorie and Isadore Rader.
Emily attends Sunrise Middle School. Her hobbies include dance, acting, reading, writing and making crafts.
For her mitzvah project, Emily volunteered for the American Cancer Society and Temple Chai's caf‚.
Eryn Nichole Frank, daughter of Caryn and Bruce Frank of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah May 17, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Eryn attends Desert Canyon Middle School. Her hobbies include dance, baseball, traveling and spending time with friends.
For her mitzvah project, Eryn collected books for the Emily Center and volunteered at the Vista Del Camino Center and a local Jewish preschool.

Kyle Donald Levy, son of Tracy and Michael Levy of Tucson, became a bar mitzvah May 3, 2003, at Old Stone Avenue Synagogue in Tucson.
Grandparents are Micki and Paul Zatulove of Phoenix; and Reva and Donald Levy of Palm Springs, Calif.
Kyle attends Orangegrove Middle School. His hobbies include tennis and skateboarding.
