Obituaries

Harriet Jacobsen-Blumenfeld

Harriet Jacobsen-Blumenfeld of Scottsdale died April 22, 2003. She was 80. She was born in Milwaukee and moved to Arizona in 1972 from Racine, Wis. She was a retired fashion designer and shop owner. She was a life master bridge player.

Survivors include her daughters, Arlynn Satz of Scottsdale and Ann Brugger of Washington, D.C.; brother, Melvyn Grossman of Los Gatos, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made by Green Acres Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation, 711 E. Missouri Ave., #116, Phoenix 85014.



Dora Laderman

Dora Laderman of Scottsdale died May 2, 2003. She was 99. She was born in New York City and moved to Arizona in 1996 from Florida. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons, Martin Laderman of Scottsdale and Stanley Laderman of Rocklin, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Florida. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary of Arizona. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix 85014 or Hadassah, 7000 E. Shea Blvd., #251, Scottsdale 85254.



Sylvia Schlesinger

Sylvia Schlesinger of Scottsdale died April 29, 2003. She was 87. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1983 from New Jersey. She was a retired sales lady.

Survivors include her daughter, Audrey Haspel of Scottsdale; son, Alan Schlesinger of Wayland, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Paradise Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary of Arizona. Contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association, 102 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix 85003.



Beatrice L. "BeBe" Kraus

Beatrice L. "BeBe" Kraus of Phoenix passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2003. BeBe was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel M. Kraus.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Kraus of San Francisco; son-in-law, Bob Liebman of Scottsdale; and granddaughter, Rachel Liebman of Scottsdale. She was a member of the Jewish War Veterans. Martin Zloto

Martin Zloto, age 92, passed away May 1, 2003 in Scottsdale. He moved to the Valley six months ago from Toronto, Canada. Born in Poland, he was a Holocaust survivor. Martin was a Restauranteur and a member of the Kielcer Society.

He was preceded in death by his wife Regina and son Abraham who died in Auschwitz, and his wife Lucielle Zloto.

Survivors include his wife Rebeka Bialystok; sons Paul (Alexandra) Zloto and Frank (Ellen) Bialystok; grandchildren Danielle and Adam Zloto and Sandra and Lauren Bialystok; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 4, 2003 at Sinai Mortuary Chapel with interment at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
