Phoenix JNF funds reservoir

The local board of Jewish National Fund made a commitment to raise $1 million over the next two years to help build the new Kfar Menachem Reservoir located between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

The announcement was made at the JNF breakfast on April 30. A challenge gift of $200,000 from the family of Louis and Rebecca Barish was also announced.

More than 300 people attended the event, where actor and JNF national spokesman Hal Linden and Israel Knesset member Abu Vilan discussed Israel's current water crisis.

The theme of the fund-raiser is "Let's Build a Reservoir." Call 602 277-4800.
