B'nai Mitzvah
Max Altman, son of Ilene and Alan Altman of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah April 26, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.
Grandparents are Doris and Lawrence Altman of Lake Suzy, Fla.; and the late Sonja and Morris Engel.
Max attends Altadena Middle School. His hobbies include baseball, basketball and horseback riding.
For his mitzvah project, Max volunteered with Gabriel's Angels, a group that provides therapy dogs to boys and girls clubs.
Lindsey Christine Herzog, daughter of Lori and Michael Herzog of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah April 26, 2003, at Temple Chai.
Grandparents are Janelle and George Gambill of Phoenix; and Miriam Herzog of Dallas.
Great-grandparent is Thelma Renick of Sun City.
Lindsey attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include tennis and basketball.
For her mitzvah project, Lindsey organized a series of bake sales to benefit the children's wing of the Maricopa Medical Center.
Dan Shtutman, son of Lena and Avi Shtutman of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah April 26, 2003, at Temple Chai.
Grandparents are Frima Trigub and Mendel Shtutman of Haifa, Israel; and Flora and Alex Shamrakov of Phoenix.
Dan attends Desert Trail Middle School. His hobbies include playing the saxophone.
For his mitzvah project, Dan tutored students at an elementary school and participated in the Ben Yehuda Mall event.
Brittney Nicole Rivera, daughter of Traci and Andrew Rivera of Las Vegas, will become a bat mitzvah April 26, 2003, at Temple Beth Am.
Grandparents are Francine and Harvey Friedman of Phoenix; William Rivera of Tempe; and the late Socorro Rivera.
Great-grandparents are Fanny Resnick of San Jose, Calif.; the late Leon Friedman; and the late Pearl Feldman.
Brittney attends Molasky Junior High School in Las Vegas. Her hobbies include gymnastics, dance, piano and spending time with friends.
For her mitzvah project, Brittney collected clothing and toys and donated them to a homeless shelter and an organization for abused children.
Schuyler David Humes, son of Janey Humes and Chip Humes, both of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah April 26, 2003, at Temple Solel.
Grandparents are Dorothy Kipnis and Jane Humes, both of Phoenix; the late Theodore Humes; and the late David Kipnis.
Great-grandparent is the late Sadie Blum.
Schuyler attends Phoenix Country Day School. His hobbies include playing bass with the Phoenix Symphony Guild Symphonette Orchestra and with the PCDS jazz bands and playing golf.
For his mitzvah project, Schuyler collected goods for the Arizona Humane Society and has performed music for various community groups.
Joshua Walker, son of Janice Rose-Walker and John Walker of Chandler, will become a bar mitzvah April 26, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.

Joshua attends Aprende Middle School. His hobbies include basketball, soccer, movies, music and math.

Jamie attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include sports, movies and spending time with friends.
For his mitzvah project, Jamie collected food for Paradise Valley Food Bank, participated in Mitzvah Day and volunteered to serve food and decorate the Watkins Overflow Shelter at Christmas.
