Brandeis luncheonThe Brandeis University National Women's Committee's closing luncheon will be held 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Grayhawk Golf Club, 8620 E. Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale. Cost is $38-$60. Call 602-667-5688.The luncheon will recognize outgoing president Rhona Ozer and install new officers, including new co-presidents Harriet Hirshberg and Joan Bream. Ruth Cohen (see related story) and Aileen Osofsky will be honored for their volunteer work. Osofsky has served on the boards of the Bureau of Jewish Education, the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, The Arizona Center of the Book and the Jewish Community Foundation. Osofsky is also a literacy volunteer and has been a mentor for an abused woman thorough the Jewish Family and Children's Service's Shelter Without Walls program. She also serves on the boards of the Creative Women of Pinnacle Peak and Homeward Bound. For 13 years, she's worked in various capacities for Brandeis' Book and Author Luncheon. She has been married to Meyer for 58 years and has three children and seven grandchildren. |
