Obituaries

Beatrice Globerman

Beatrice Globerman of Chandler died March 30, 2003. She was 98. She was born in Russia and moved to Arizona in 1960 from Illinois. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Beth El Congregation, a charter member of American Red Magen David for Israel and a life member of Hadassah.

Survivors include her sons, Norman Lefton of Sun Lakes and Milton Lefton of Chicago; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Beth El Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix 85021.



Tandrea Ann Goodfarb

Tandrea Ann Goodfarb of Sun City died March 28, 2003. She was 31. She was born in Phoenix. She was a medical secretary. She was a member of the National Music Association, a Chaparral High School graduate and she attended the University of Arizona and Scottsdale Community College.

Survivors include her parents, Sandra and Norman Metchis and Gail and Jay Goodfarb; and step-brothers, Howard Metchis, Warren Metchis and Michael Metchis.

Services were held at Phoenix Memorial Park. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to the Lupus Foundation of America, 12630 N. 21st Ave., Phoenix 85029.



Michael Munz

Michael Munz of Phoenix died March 27, 2003. He was 92. He was born in Deliez, Poland, and moved to Arizona in 1987 from New York. He was a retired decorator.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Munz of Phoenix; daughter, Judy Mattern of Phoenix; son, Robert Munz of Phoenix; sister, Charlotte Hamberg of New York City; brother, Herman Munz of Long Island, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Phoenix Memorial Park. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Chabad Lubavitch Center, 2110 E. Lincoln Drive, Phoenix 85016.



Irvin H. Berger

Irvin H. Berger, 74, of Scottsdale, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2003. He was born in Altoona, Pa. and moved to Arizona from New York in 1972. He was a retired U.S. government inspector and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons Michael Berger (Sheree) of Florence, William Berger (Marylynn) of Lake in the Hills, Ill., David Berger (Iris) of Scottsdale, and Richard Berger (Jacki) of Scottsdale; sister Anita Milikofsky of Saugerties, N.Y.; brothers Albert Berger of Dale City, Va. and Ronald Berger of Fayette City, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Sunland Memorial Park. Contributions can be made to Temple Chai, 4645 E. Marilyn Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85032. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.



Alice Platt

Alice Platt, 96, of Tempe, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2003. Alice is survived by her children, Bette Jefferson (Ben) of Phoenix, Michael Platt (Peggy) of Austin, Texas, David Platt of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Vicki Starkovich of Phoenix, Jim Jefferson of Tempe, Katie Beth Platt of Austin, Roger Platt of Las Vegas, Betsy Thomas of Grand Forks, N.D.; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Celia Meyer of Laconia, N.H., and Gertrude Salzberg of Washington.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Platt; brothers, Charles Salzberg, Ben Salzberg, Harry Salzberg; and sister Evelyn Jelinek.

Services were held at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale. Contributions can be made to Westchester Care Center, 6100 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ 85283.
