Max Clayton Frenkel, son of Jane and Tom Frenkel of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah March 22, 2003, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Lucille and Abe Frenkel of Bayside, Wis.; Ron Newman of Melbourne, Australia; and the late Doreen Newman.

Max attends Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center. His hobbies include soccer, basketball, tennis, chess and reading.

For his mitzvah project, Max offered computer and office help at New Song Center for Grieving Children, volunteered at the Scottsdale library and helped sponsor a child in Ukraine.



Corbin Edward Reese, son of Donna and Gary Reese of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah March 22, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Gene Peterson of Scottsdale; the late Marilyn Peterson; and the late Gladys and Eddie Reese.

Corbin attends Mountainside Middle School. His hobbies include baseball, track and field, math and science.

For his mitzvah project, Corbin collected toiletries and blankets for Northern Arizona fire victims and collected books for the Jewish Community Center, the Temple Chai library and a local crisis center.



Joshua Ruben Levy, son of Marice and Bryan Levy of Cave Creek, will become a bar mitzvah March 22, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Faye and Arthur Weisberg and Sandy and Jerry Levy, all of Scottsdale.

Great-grandparent is Mollie Gerber of Phoenix.

Joshua attends Sonoran Trails Middle School. His hobbies include sports, fishing and boating.

For his mitzvah project, Joshua is raising money to donate to the Jewish Community Center camp scholarship fund and Temple Chai's Torah fund.



Benjamin Richard Erlick, son of Candice and John Erlick of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah March 22, 2003, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Julie and Howard Erlick of Phoenix; and the late Jane and Anton Castle.



Katherine Talia Hinz, daughter of Emily Garber and John Hinz of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah March 22, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Martha and George Hinz of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Norma Garber of North Bellmore, N.Y.; and the late Bernard Garber.

Katherine attends Vista Verde Middle School.

For her mitzvah project, Katherine sorted food at the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank.



Adam Daniel Jacobson, son of Sharon and David Jacobson of Tempe, will become a bar mitzvah March 22, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are Eileen and Donald Hastings of Elyria, Ohio; and Israel Joshua Jacobson of Kfar Saba, Israel.

Adam attends McKemy Middle School. His hobbies include tennis, chess and physics.

For his mitzvah project, Adam tutored and mentored underprivileged elementary school children.
