'Friends of Israel' to perform for Dor L'Dor

The musical group "Friends of Israel" will offer a program of Hebrew songs at the Dor L'Dor meeting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Temple Chai, 4645 E. Marilyn Road, Phoenix.

Dor L'Dor is Temple Chai's senior group of people over the age of 55. "Friends of Israel," a group of individuals committed to building sincere relationships between Christians and Jews, has been performing the songs of Israel and the Jewish people since the early 1980s.

Fine Arts Strings concerto at Solel

The Fine Arts Strings of Scottsdale Community College, with 16-year-old Michelle Wooden, will perform a concerto for cello by C.P.E. Bach 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Temple Solel, 6805 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley.

Wooden is principal cellist of the Gilbert High School Symphony Orchestra and was selected as a member of both Region and All-State orchestras. She also took second place in the American String Teachers Association Arizona senior level competition in November.

Discovery

"Discovery," cosponsored by the Phoenix Community Kollel and Aish Hatorah Scottsdale Center for Jewish Discovery, will be held 7-10 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Scottsdale Center for the Arts, 7380 E. Second St. The presentation combines philosophy, psychology, history and computer science to teach audiences about the "why" of being Jewish.
