People on the moveDr. Phil Randolph has been named president of Glendale Community College. Randolph has served as interim president of the college since May 2002.Carol Newman has been elected president of the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance in New York City. Newman was a founding member of the organization and has served as vice president and member of the executive committee since its inception. The Phoenix Boys Choir, recently presented with the Honorary Phoenix Point of Pride award, has become the only American boys choir invited to perform at Carnegie Hall during the American Choral Directors Association national conference this month. Morris Judd, a former faculty member at the University of Colorado who refused to submit to intimidation from his superiors during the McCarthy Era, was recently awarded the University of Colorado Medal for adhering to the principles of academic and personal freedom. The medal was presented to Judd during his speech at the university's faculty assembly in Boulder, Colo. Judd is a member of Temple Beth Shalom in Sun City. Jason Kichen, a 2001 graduate of Desert Mountain High School in Scottsdale, has been named to the Dean's List at the University of Maryland for the fall semester of 2002. John Paul Oliver has been named general manager at the Wyndham Buttes Resort in Tempe. Oliver was formerly the general manager of the Wyndham resort in Telluride, Colo. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Phoenix Affiliate received the foundation's affiliate award at the 2003 Komen conference held Feb. 7-9 in Texas. The organization was recognized for its commitment to excellence in meeting the breast health and breast cancer needs of Valley residents. |
