B'nai Mitzvah

Aaron Mitchell Borenstein, son of Mona and Mark Borenstein of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Feb. 15, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Harriet and Bob Kaplan; and Lovey and Louis Borenstein, all of Phoenix.

Aaron attends Desert Shadows Middle School. His hobbies include playing baseball and basketball.

For his mitzvah project, Aaron collected canned goods and donated them to an emergency food shelter.



Gary Michael Gold, son of Pnina Levine and Alan Gold of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Feb. 15, 2003, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Ruth Gold of Clark, N.J.; Frieda Levine of Phoenix; the late Irving Levine; and the late Harold Gold.

Gary attends Tesseract School. His hobbies include playing basketball, baseball and lacrosse.

For his mitzvah project, Gary donated money to Jews in Argentina.



Tera Elise Dollin, daughter of Sheri and Michael Dollin of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Feb. 15, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Naomi and Bernard Schottenstein of Columbus, Ohio; and Beverly and Louis Dollin of Cincinnati.

Great-grandparents are the late Blanche and Louis Stillpass; the late Esther Dollin; the late Jenni and Ben Gendel; the late Ben Dollin; and the late Libbie and Meyer Schottenstein.

Tera attends Ingleside Middle School.



Courtney Suzanne Klopper, daughter of Stephanie and Hal Klopper of Mesa, became a bat mitzvah Feb. 1, 2003, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are Julie and Bill Tunnell of Long Beach, Calif.; and Sandy and Dewy Rudolph of Huntington Beach, Calif.

Courtney attends Rhodes Junior High School. Her hobbies include softball, basketball, soccer, drawing, playing video games and taking care of the family pets.

For her mitzvah project, Courtney participated in various community service events.



Rachel Sarah Lieb, daughter of Kelly and David Lieb of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Feb. 15, 2003, at Temple Beth Sholom.

Grandparents are Maxine and Robert Lieb of Mesa; and Carol Boruschle of Clearwater, Fla.

Rachel attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include music, movies and spending time on the Internet.



Raquel Ilana Goya, daughter of Esther and Fred Goya of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Feb. 15, 2003, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Edy Lange of La Jolla, Calif.; and the late Rolf Lange.



Nicole Danit Damari, daughter of Barbara Lewis and Aviv Damari of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Feb. 15, 2003, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Rachel and Mordechai Damari of Tel Aviv, Israel; Frank Lewis of Scottsdale; and the late Anita Hurwich.

Great-grandparents are Barbara and Nathan Rosen of Scottsdale; the late Amilia and Rachamim Krief; and the late Amelia and Max Lewis.

Nicole attends Pardes Jewish Day School. Her hobbies include karate, piano, reading and acting.

For her mitzvah project, Nicole made sandwiches for a food bank and tutored students in Hebrew.



Rachael Gilburd, daughter of Claudia and Michael Gilburd of Paradise Valley, will become a bat mitzvah Feb. 15, 2003, at The New Shul.

Grandparents are Dorothy Goldstein of Coconut Creek, Fla.; Nancy Hoke of Scottsdale; the late Warner Lewis; and the late Sidney Gilburd.

Rachael attends Tesseract School. Her hobbies include playing soccer, making jewelry and spending time with friends.

For her mitzvah project, Rachael taught Shabbat morning Torah classes to younger children at The New Shul and participated in clothing and food drives for the needy.
