JCC hosts showing of 'Fiddler'

The Tri-City Jewish Community Center is hosting a special performance of "Fiddler on the Roof" 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, 5247 E. Brown Road, Mesa.

"Fiddler" tells the story of Tevye, a Russian dairyman, and his family. Tevye and Golde try to raise their daughters according to tradition, but find that the old ways no longer apply. The award-winning score includes "Matchmaker," "If I Were a Rich Man," "Tradition!" and "Sunrise, Sunset."

Special rates for the Feb. 23 performance can be obtained through the JCC and include lunch, ticket and gratuity. Prices are $35 adults, $18 children 12 and under.

Explore mystery writers' minds

Hadassah is hosting three mystery authors, Gini Hartzmark, Renee B. Horowitz and Reva Spiro Luxenberg for an exploration into the world of a mystery writer's mind. The event will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Mustang Library, 10101 N. 90th St., Scottsdale. Book signing and purchase are available before and after the program. Free for members, $5 nonmembers.

Robert Grossman in concert

Robert Grossman, the star of Arizona Jewish Theatre Company's current production "Old Wicked Songs," will be in concert one night only, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Playhouse on the Park, 850 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, inside the Viad Corporate Center. Grossman is a 35-year veteran of stages across the country, and a song stylist who brings his own touches to folk, jazz, pop and standards. He has recorded on the Electra records label, and has appeared on "The Tonight Show." Tickets are $8.
