Samantha Hannah Berger, daughter of Jacki and Richard Berger of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Feb. 1, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Jean and Howard Trau of Phoenix; and Marilyn and Irvin Berger of Sun City.

Samantha attends Sunrise Middle School. Her hobbies include drawing, dogs, whales and reading.

For her mitzvah project, Samantha was a madricha at Temple Chai, helping the fourth grade Hebrew teachers as well as tutoring the students from her school.



Carter Hollander, son of Dave Hollander of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Feb. 1, 2003, at Temple Solel.

Carter attends Madison Middle School. His hobbies include skateboarding, playing trumpet in a jazz band and Boy Scouts.



Stacy Beth Clayton, daughter of Cindy and Marshall Clayton of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Feb. 1, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Rhoda Goldman and Jimmie Prenzlauer, both of West Bloomfield, Mich.; and the late Helaine and Jerry Clayton.

Great-grandparents are the late Celia and Leo Bigelman; the late Faye and Peter Clayton; the late Beatrice and Colonel Prenzlauer; and the late Victoria and Ben Burk.

Stacy attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include soccer, movies and spending time with friends.

For her mitzvah project, Stacy collected books and sorted and wrapped gifts for needy children.



Michael Adam Long, son of Roberta and Joseph Long of Paradise Valley, will become a bar mitzvah Feb. 1, 2003, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Ruth and Joseph Fisher of Ventnor, N.J.; and Joyce and Joseph Long of Newton, N.J.

Michael attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include baseball.

For his mitzvah project, Michael helped provide food to the homeless.
