B'nai Mitzvah

Ashley Nicole Kaminsky, daughter of Cindy and Phillip Kaminsky of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 18, 2003, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Sharon Kimball of Lakeside; Richard Leavitt of Medford, Ore.; I. Samuel Kaminsky of Johnstown, Pa.; and the late Barbara Handmaker.

Ashley attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include volleyball, cheerleading and shopping.

For her mitzvah project, Ashley adopted a family over the holiday season.



Lauren Levich Motzkin, daughter of Vicki and Neil Motzkin of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 18, 2003, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Jan Levich and Evelyn and Donald Motzkin, all of Woodland Hills, Calif.; and the late Ronald Levich.

Lauren attends Pardes Jewish Day School, her hobbies include fencing, hiking with her family and playing the flute and piano.

For her mitzvah project, Lauren collected and donated gently-used women's business attire to local organizations that assist women.



Samantha Leigh Benkel, daughter of Andrea and Jeffery Benkel of Chandler, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 18, 2003, at Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Grandparents are Carole Benkel of Scottsdale; Jerry Benkel of Columbus, Ohio; and the late Linda Block.

Samantha attends Aprende Middle School. Her hobbies include acting, shopping and playing the viola.

For her mitzvah project, Samantha volunteered in her mother's sixth grade religious school class.



Sarah Leah Bock, daughter of Arlynn and Daniel Bock of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 19, 2003, at a private ceremony at Desert Botanical Gardens.

Grandparents are Myra Gupta of Philadelphia; Judy Weiss and Claire and Henry Bock, all of Phoenix; and the late Roland Weiss.

Great-grandparent is Lena Weiss of Scottsdale.

Sarah attends King David School. Her hobbies include basketball, watching movies and spending time with friends.



Gabrielle Hope Abrams, daughter of Jean and Charles Abrams of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Jan.18, 2003, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Annette and Bernard Abrams of Peoria; and the late Cecile Shapiro.
