The Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center has hired Jay Milne as aquatics director. Milne comes to the VOSJCC with experience as a pool director in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Judge Robert Myers, the former presiding judge of the Maricopa Superior County Court, was named chief deputy attorney general by Arizona Attorney General Elect Terry Goddard. Myers will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the attorney general's office.

Sam Wercinski has been elected Maricopa Country Democratic party chairman.
