Kofi Annan headline misleading

Editor:
I would like to know from you if the Jewish News supplied the headline "Kofi Annan pledges support for Israel," (Jewish News, Nov. 22) or if that came from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

If someone only reads the headline, and not the article, or the original article about Kofi Annan's speech at the University of Maryland, one could infer that Kofi Annan really supports Israel.

He is probably the most anti-Israel, anti-Jewish Secretary General that the United Nations has ever had. If the Jewish News supplied the headline, then I think it is a travesty to imply that Kofi Annan is supportive of Israel, and you should probably do an article about his entire speech indicating in fact that he is highly critical of Israel.
