Cole Brandyn Hirschfeld, son of Anita Sikora of Phoenix and David Hirschfeld of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 14, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Mary Hirschfeld-Daley of Scottsdale; Violet Derderian of Dallas; Robert Jones of Las Vegas; and the late Alexander Hirschfeld.

Cole attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include playing the trumpet and saxophone, playing basketball, mountain biking and camping.

For his mitzvah project, Cole collected old eyeglasses and donated them to the needy through the organization "Sight Night."



Brittany Lee Silver, daughter of Nancy and David Silver of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Dec. 14, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Arline and Daniel Weiner of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and Constance Silver of Scottsdale.

Brittany attends Desert Shadows Middle School. Her hobbies include dancing, spending time with friends and family and serving as secretary of the seventh grade student council.

For her mitzvah project, Brittany served as the team captain for her school's participation in "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk.



Sheryl Elizabeth Riech, daughter of Ellen and Howard Riech of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Dec. 14, 2002, at Beth El Congregation.

Grandparents are Lillian and William Brandfon of Winnetka, Ill.; Lenore Riech of Tempe; and the late Norman Riech.

Great-grandparents are the late Ruth and Jack Brandfon; the late Sophie and Irving Linsky; the late Anna and Samuel Gutstein; and the late Ethel and Frank Riech.

Sheryl attends Madison Meadows Middle School. Her hobbies include tennis, piano, shopping and hanging out with friends.

For her mitzvah project, Sheryl volunteered in a class of special needs children.



Devin Rush Glick, son of Rhonda and William Glick of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 14, 2002, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are William Glick Sr. of Palm City, Fla.; the late Joanne Glick; and the late Sarah and David Rush.



Austin H. Laff, son of Amy and Eugene Laff of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Dec. 14, 2002, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Judy and Sylvan Wallach of New York City; and Mike Halpern of Sarasota, Fla.

Austin attends Pardes Jewish Day School. His hobbies include golf and playing guitar.
