Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center has elected officers and board members for 2002-2003. Officers are Bob Silver, chairman; Irwin Kanefsky, vice chairman; David Sherman, vice chairman; Gary Weiss, treasurer/assistant secretary; and Joel Kramer, immediate past chairman. Board members are Jules Freeman, Karen Koven, Shelly Reiss and Steven Schwarz.

Realtor Wayne Tipton of Diamondback Realty in Phoenix was recently recognized by the Wall Street Journal in the article "Now, Brokers Try Harder." The article focused on home-buyer incentives.

Arizona State University adjunct law professor Bruce Meyerson has been installed as chairman of the 9,000-member Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association. Meyerson, who teaches arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution at the ASU College of Law, is a full-time mediator, arbitrator, trainer and facilitator.

Sierra Pointe, a rental retirement community in north Scottsdale, is the recipient of the Business Journal's Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) award. The award is determined by an analysis of growth during the past two fiscal years and by business strategy and marketing efforts.
