Alexa King Itkin, daughter of Pamela King and Robert Itkin of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Or Adam Congregation.

Grandparents are Florette King of Forest Hills, N.Y.; Shirley and Irving Itkin of Peoria; and the late Sol King.

Great-grandparents are the late Mary and Isadore Siegel; and the late Sylvia and Samuel Braslawsky.

Alexa attends Phoenix Country Day School. Her hobbies include dance, drama, volleyball and basketball.

For her mitzvah project, Alexa conducted research on the topic "The origin of bat/bar mitzvah and what it means to me."



Rachael Nichal Uffens, daughter of Elyse Fann-Webber of Paradise Valley and Joseph Uffens of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Ricki and Don Fann of Paradise Valley.

Great-grandparents are Molly Fann of Scottsdale; and the late Ned Fann.

Rachael attends Cocopah Middle School. Her hobbies include dancing, singing, sports and music.

For her mitzvah project, Rachael collected clothing, personal items and toys for mental health and childrens' hospitals.



Julie Danielle Siegel, daughter of Renee Siegel of Scottsdale and the late Warren Siegel, will become a bat mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Geraldine and William Warren of Sarasota, Fla.; Lillian Siegel of Minneapolis; and the late Solomon Siegel.

Julie attends Mountainside Middle School. Her hobbies include shopping, tennis and snowboarding.

For her mitzvah project, Julie prepared a Shabbat meal, gave tzedakah and helped beautify her community.



Louis Stefan Tuber, son of Joy Schechtman Tuber and Jack Tuber of Paradise Valley, will become a bar mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Har Zion Congregation.

Grandparents are Ruth Tuber of Canton, Ohio; the late Milton Tuber; and the late Sarah and Louis Schechtman.

Louis attends Rancho Solano School. His hobbies include basketball, reading and chess.

For his mitzvah project, Louis helped feed the hungry through a program at Har Zion.



Deanne Elizabeth Kaner, daughter of Donna and Dean Kaner of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Elaine Johnson of Monrovia, Calif.; Robert Kaner of Scottsdale; the late Netty Kaner; and the late Donald Johnson.

Deanne attends Sunrise Middle School. Her hobbies include theater and soccer.

For her mitzvah project, Deanne worked as an assistant counselor at Temple Solel's summer camp.



Sarah Marie Pearlberg, daughter of Jill and Cliff Pearlberg of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Beth El Congregation.

Grandparents are Dorothy and Charles Slott of Peoria; Judy Pearlberg of Phoenix; and the late Leonard Pearlberg.

Sarah attends Alhambra Traditional School. Her hobbies include music, outdoor activities, exploring new places and spending time with family and friends.

For her mitzvah project, Sarah collected used children's books for donation.



Stephanie Zankman, daughter of Marla and Gregg Zankman of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are Rae Moss of Philadelphia; and Selma and Nathan Zankman of Langhorne, Pa.

Stephanie attends Kyrene Akimel A-Al Middle School. Her hobbies include soccer, reading and spending time with friends.

For her mitzvah project, Stephanie volunteered at a fund-raising carnival for an organization involved with Down syndrome.



Aaron Robert Saper, son of Christine and Ronald Saper of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Mountain Shadows.

Grandparents are Sylvia and Milton Saper of Phoenix; and the late May and Robert Shirley.

Aaron attends Madison One Middle School. His hobbies include computers and skiing.



Drew Louis Kootman, son of Jettie and Richard Kootman of Paradise Valley, will become a bar mitzvah Nov. 9, 2002, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Jerry and Sandy Kootman of St. Louis; Jean Loer of Scottsdale; and the late Roland Loeb.

Drew attends Cocopah Middle School. His hobbies include hockey, karate and golf.
