Beth Emeth hires new rabbi

Beth Emeth Congregation, a Conservative congregation in the West Valley, will welcome its new full-time rabbi at Shabbat services 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the synagogue, 13702 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West.

Rabbi Leo Abrami, originally from France, comes to Beth Emeth with more than 40 years of experience. He started his career as a cantor at the Grande Synagogue at Geneva, Switzerland, and has served as a rabbi at congregations in Europe, the Caribbean, South America and the United States.

Abrami will serve as the Sun City congregation's spiritual leader and cantor, as well as the primary educator for the congregation.

"Beth Emeth Congregation offers new and exciting opportunities for the growth of a Conservative Jewish congregation in the West Valley," Abrami said in a press release. "I look forward to providing the rabbinic leadership to ensure this growth by reaching out to members of the Jewish community of all ages."

Abrami and his wife Rosemary have purchased a home in Sun City West and will become full-time residents of the community in November. He previously served as a rabbi in Tucson. Call 623-584-7210.
