Fair features Jewish heritage

The Arizona Jewish Historical Society will hold the first-ever Jewish Heritage Fair 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at the site of Phoenix's first synagogue, 122 E. Culver St. The AJHS has been renovating the building to house a Jewish Heritage Center in historic downtown Phoenix, including space for museum exhibits, archival retrieval technology and a variety of activities. The fair will include activities and cultural experiences for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring family photos or artifacts to contribute to the AJHS archives, as well as personal hygiene items for donation to the Interfaith Corporate Ministries. The children's choirs of Temple Beth Sholom, Temple Chai, Temple Kol Ami, Temple Beth Israel, Pardes Middle School, Beth El Congregation and Temple Solel will perform, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Attending synagogues and organizations include the Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, American Jewish Committee, Jewish Family & Children's Service, Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, Plotkin Judaica Museum, Jewish National Fund and the Bureau of Jewish Education.
