Becky Jackson, president of the Phoenix Metropolitan Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, will serve as chairwoman on the East Valley Partnership committee for the eighth annual East Valley Economic Forum sponsored by Cox Communications Oct. 30.

Rich Ghali has joined Newport Furnishings as sales manager. He will oversee day-to-day functions of the Phoenix sales staff and store.

Timothy Berg, Fennemore Craig attorney, was recently elected to the board of directors of the Maryland-based American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.

Arizona State University's Sundome Center for the Performing Arts was awarded a 12th annual ariZoni Theatre Award of Excellence for a professional touring production.
