Call for docents

The Sylvia Plotkin Judaica Museum of Temple Beth Israel is offering a volunteer/docent class 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Nov. 7, at the museum, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale.

A variety of positions are available. One need not be a member of the synagogue.

'Awake and Sing'

The Arizona Jewish Theatre Company will open its 2002-2003 season with "Awake and Sing" Nov. 2-17, at the Playhouse on the Park, 1850 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, inside the Viad Corporate Center.

The story is a moving drama of life during the Great Depression.

Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets are $26-$28.
