B'nai Mitzvah

Brandon Darwin Harbin, son of Nancy and Mark Harbin of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 19, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Elaine and Morris Goldberg of Phoenix; Carmron Harbin of Scottsdale; and the late Darwin Harbin.

Great-grandparents are Sarah and Murray Shaw of Phoenix; and the late Lena and Saul Goldberg.

Brandon attends Sunrise Middle School. His hobbies include baseball and tennis.

For his mitzvah project, Brandon collected toys and clothes for a homeless shelter.



Leah Nicole Harbin, daughter of Nancy and Mark Harbin of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 19, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Elaine and Morris Goldberg of Phoenix; Carmron Harbin of Scottsdale; and the late Darwin Harbin.

Great-grandparents are Sarah and Murray Shaw of Phoenix; and the late Lena and Saul Goldberg.

Leah attends Sunrise Middle School. Her hobbies include hip-hop dancing.

For her mitzvah project, Leah collected toys and clothes for a homeless shelter.



Ryan Maxwell Zweig, son of Susan and Barry Zweig of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 19, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Joyce and Larry King of Scottsdale; and Eloise and Herbert Zweig of Delray Beach, Fla.

Ryan attends Mountain Trail Middle School. His hobbies include playing guitar and running track.

For his mitzvah project, Ryan collected movies to donate to a homeless shelter.



Ryan Alexander Shanken, son of Laurie and Earl Shanken of Chandler, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 19, 2002, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are Alice and Sheldon Shanken of Sun City West; and Jackie and Marvin Thornton of Tucson.

Ryan attends Aprende Middle School. His hobbies include playing the guitar, computer games, music and sports.

For his mitzvah project, Ryan collected funds for the "Race for the Cure" event.



Corey Benjamin Romberg, son of Sari and Evan Romberg of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Oct. 19, 2002, at Beth El Congregation.

Grandparents are Renee and Victor Topper, and Joyce and Chuck Romberg, all of Toronto.

Great-grandparents are Vicki Rosenberg of Toronto and the late Sam Rosenberg; and the late Esther and Dave Aronovich of Montreal.

Corey attends Shea Middle School. His hobbies include sports, music, animals, movies and spending time with family and friends.

For his mitzvah project, Corey volunteered at an animal shelter.



Chelsey Rachel Ludwig, daughter of Jinny and David Ludwig of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Oct. 19, 2002, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Martha and Steve Ludwig, and Mary and Joe Briden, all of Phoenix.

Great-grandparents are Mickee Ludwig of Laguna Beach, Calif.; Saul Goldstein of Phoenix; and Virginia and Frank Toner of Indianapolis.

Chelsey attends Royal Palm Junior High School. Her hobbies include soccer, basketball, volleyball and reading.
