Camp SWIFT offers refunds

Refunds are being offered to individuals who made donations to Camp SWIFT/Mitzvah Corps for last summer.

Camp SWIFT, which is held at Camp Charles Pearlstein in Prescott, was canceled this year due to the closure of the Prescott National Forest.

Camp SWIFT is sponsored by the Southwest Federation of Temple Youth (SWFTY), and offers a summer camp experience to disadvantaged youth. Rabbi B. Charles Herring said there will be programs held during the school year with the young people who were unable to attend camp this summer. Possible activities include live theater, sporting events and other special events.

Herring said that next year camp will be "back to usual for the 25th year."

All donations collected for the summer of 2002 will be placed in a fund for the summer of 2003, unless a refund is requested. Please direct refund requests to Mark Kaplan, Mitzvah Corps treasurer, at 480-951-9660.
