People on the moveKivel elects new presidentE. David Metz has been named president of the board of directors at Kivel Campus of Care.During his time as president, Metz hopes to increase awareness of the organization's mission of taking care of elderly Jews and encourage participation from the community to improve Kivel's future. "We need to show the community what great work Kivel is doing at taking care of sick, elderly Jews," said Metz. "I want to strengthen active participation of Kivel's board of directors to help plan Kivel's present and future." Metz is also encouraged by Kivel's unified and capable staff, Kivel's auxiliary group and the organization's involvement with local Jewish organizations, including The King David School, Phoenix Hebrew Academy, Jess Schwartz Jewish Community High School and local synagogues. "We could not have done all of the fantastic interior renovating, programming and projects without their support." Metz has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in chemical engineering and served in the United States Navy. He spent most of his career working for Motorola, splitting his time between Arizona and Japan. Metz and his wife are actively involved in the Bureau of Jewish Education. Hope Berman Levin has been named senior vice president of Compass Bank. She will serve as the corporate banking manager for the commercial banking division, as well as be responsible for introducing middle-market companies to the capabilities of Compass Bank. Michele Monti of Tempe has been selected to serve the state of Arizona on the new Congressional Business Commission. The CBC is a group of leading business people and political strategists who will advise Republican leaders on how to protect the Republican majority in the House of Representatives during fall elections.
