The center will diagnose, treat and manage all forms of acute and chronic pain. Dr. Steven Pitt of Scottsdale was recently honored by The American Osteopathic Association with an AOA Hero Medal for his commitment to the community through his work with Threat Assessment Group, Inc., of California, which examined the Columbine High School tragedy in search of information to help prevent similar future tragedies. Pitt, a board-certified psychiatrist and forensic psychiatrist, is a private practitioner in Scottsdale, a clinical associate professor at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson and serves as a board examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. David Berliner, Arizona State University Regents Professor of Education, is the 2003 recipient of the Brock International Prize in Education. The $40,000 award is presented in recognition of Berliner's innovative and effective contributions made to the field of education.
