Obituaries

Samuel Foxx

Samuel H. Foxx of Scottsdale died July 7, 2002. He was 82. He was born in New York City and moved to Arizona in 1984. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was a retired manager of Prudential Insurance.

Survivors include his wife, Selma; daughter, Gail Marks of Phoenix; son, Marc of Morgan Hills, Calif.; brother, Phillip of New York City; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Paradise Memorial Gardens, with Rabbi Lisa Tzur officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Odyssey Healthcare, 202 E. Earll Drive, #320, Phoenix 85012.



Frances Rosenberg

Frances Rosenberg was a longtime resident of Phoenix. She was an active member of Hadassah and B'nai B'rith for many years. Frances was the mother of the late La Verne Kogen and Jerry Surkin, and is survived by her son-in-law Norman Kogen and her grandchildren Alen Kogen and Robin Brody, as well as three out-of-state grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services have been held.
