Call 602-257-9790.The Greater Southwest Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, based in Phoenix, has merged with the Southern Arizona Chapter of the organization, based in Tucson. The consolidation will enable volunteers and staff to meet the needs of more than 1.5 million suffering from arthritis in the Southwest. Bart Lasner, sales manager of Loew's Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, was named "Supplier of the Year" at a recent event of Meeting Planners International. He was also installed as treasurer of the Arizona chapter of MPI. Girls Ranch, Inc., of Arizona recently elected new officers for 2002-2003. New officers are Mary Jo Forman Miller, treasurer; Susan Bauer, corresponding and recording secretary; Julie Lilly, vice president; and Wendy Weber, president. The organization serves troubled girls ages 11-18 with homes in Scottsdale, Mesa and Tucson. Local attorney Larry Lazarus has been named chairman of the board of directors for the Arizona region of the Anti-Defamation League. Lazarus succeeds Martin Shultz, who will remain affiliated with ADL as chairman of Society of Fellows. David Glassman, son of Marsha and Daniel Glassman of Phoenix, has completed the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, Glendale Campus. Brian Helander, former director of emergency and critical care at Paradise Valley Hospital, has been named executive director of Body Positive, an HIV and AIDS research and resource center. |
