Wild fire relief

Fire relief effort
Bashas' grocery store has partnered with KTVK-Channel 3 to participate in the Arizona Family Wildfire Relief Effort. Bashas', Food City and AJ's customers can make contributions to the Salvation Army when checking out by adding the amount they wish to donate to their grocery total when they pay with cash, check or credit card. The amount will appear as a separate item on the receipt, which can be used for tax deduction purposes. Customers can also make monetary donations at the customer service desks of all three stores.

Clubs appeal to community
Following the destruction of the Show Low Youth Leadership Retreat by recent fires in northern Arizona, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix are asking for donations. The organization provides after school and summer programs, as well as outreach services, to more than 15,000 youth in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Those interesting in helping the organization can make donations online at www.bgclubs-phx.org or call 602-954-8182.

Shelter provides pet care
The Arizona Animal Welfare League is offering to provide a safe haven for pets affected by the Rodeo-Chediski fire raging in northeastern Arizona. The shelter will either accommodate pets or find foster homes in the Valley to help owners who no longer have the resources to care for their pets. Pet owners can bring their animals to the shelter, located at 30 N. 40th St., Phoenix. Call 602-273-6852, ext. 106 or 107.
