Hadassah, Shalom Chapter, held an installation of new officers and honored life members on April 16. Thea Friedman, past-president of Hadassah, Valley of the Sun, installed Marcia Weiner, Francine Applebaum and Adriane Goldman to share the responsibilities of president. Outgoing president Toby Cohn received a certificate for three years of dedication to Hadassah.

Ellen Dreskin will join the National Team of Synagogue 2000 as director of programs beginning July 18. Dreskin is the first cantor to be on the staff of the nonprofit institute that works to create community within North American synagogues of all denominations.

Copeland's of New Orleans, a restaurant specializing in seafood, Creole and Cajun cuisine, will open May 30 at 15445 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale. The restaurant will also offer New Orleans specialty drinks, live jazz on Sundays and a banquet room for up to 45 people. Copeland's is also located at 7151 E. Ray Road, Chandler.

Vishal Gunnala of Phoenix has been named to the dean's list for academic achievement for the fall 2001 semester at Washington University in St. Louis in the College of Arts and Sciences. Gunnala is a graduate of Brophy College Preparatory School.

Fitness Dynamics is offering Pilates classes and private reformer Pilates training at their new offices, located at 16429 N. Tatum Blvd., Suite 200, Phoenix. Fitness Dynamics shares the office with Arizona Spine & Sport Chiropractic Center. They will celebrate their grand opening 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 6.

Linda Radke of Five Star Publications has won five awards from the Arizona Press Women organization. Radke received first place for "Writing the Web," first place for "Marketing program or campaign for new or existing product," second place for "Non-fiction book," second place for "Juvenile book" and second place for "Catalog, educational institutions." The awards were presented at the annual communications contest awards banquet on May 3.

Nancy Kashman of Kashman's Place has co-authored "Sensory and Communication Strategies That Work," a resource book for therapists and professionals. Kashman and Janet Mora present a comprehensive sensory and communication therapy approach that focuses on building social, motor, learning and functioning living skills. Cost is $24.95.
