How you can support Israel

Valley residents have a variety of ways to support Israel during the latest Palestinian intifada, begun nearly 20 months ago. Writing letters to elected officials, becoming an Israel advocate, and contributing financially to Israel's self-defense are just a start. What follows is a listing of contact information.

Elected officials

While the most effective way to communicate a message of support for Israel is to speak directly to an elected official, there are other ways to make your voice heard, said Rabbi Robert Kravitz, executive director of the American Jewish Committee area office in Phoenix. They are, in descending order of significance, a personal letter or fax, an e-mail, or talking with a legislative assistant.
