ObituariesJoani ZoltanJoani Zoltan of Phoenix died April 7, 2002. She was 56. She was born in Elmira, N.Y., and moved to Arizona from Missouri in 1977. She was a retired legal nurse consultant and a member of Beth El Congregation.Survivors include her daughters, Paige Lio of Portland, Ore., and Kam Kalish of Scottsdale; sons, Todd of San Diego and Kevin of Santa Barbara, Calif.; father, Seymour Salberg of Sun City; brother, Donald Salberg of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and two grandchildren. Beatrice GarsonBeatrice Garson of Scottsdale died April 7, 2002. She was 81. She was born in Binghamton, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1970.Survivors include her son, Robert of Scottsdale; and four grandchildren. He was a retired police lieutenant and served in the U.S. Army in World War II.Survivors include his wife, Sara; daughter, Gail of Mesa; son, Jonathan of Mesa; sister, Ann Ostrow of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two grandchildren. She was a homemaker, a life member of B'nai Jehudah and past president of their sisterhood, a member of Brandeis University National Women's Committee and a member of National Council of Jewish Women.Survivors include her daughters, Betty Meyer of Scottsdale, and Carolyn Friedman of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
