Obituaries

Joani Zoltan

Joani Zoltan of Phoenix died April 7, 2002. She was 56. She was born in Elmira, N.Y., and moved to Arizona from Missouri in 1977. She was a retired legal nurse consultant and a member of Beth El Congregation.

Survivors include her daughters, Paige Lio of Portland, Ore., and Kam Kalish of Scottsdale; sons, Todd of San Diego and Kevin of Santa Barbara, Calif.; father, Seymour Salberg of Sun City; brother, Donald Salberg of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and two grandchildren.

Private services were held. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Banner Health Foundation Ecuador, Physicians Program #118033, 1441 N. 12th St., Phoenix 85006.



Beatrice Garson

Beatrice Garson of Scottsdale died April 7, 2002. She was 81. She was born in Binghamton, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1970.

Survivors include her son, Robert of Scottsdale; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Green Acres Cemetery, with Rabbi Maynard Bell officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation, Osborn Trauma Center, 10001 N. 92nd St., Suite #121, Scottsdale 85258.



Bennit Scheck

Bennit Scheck of Mesa died April 3, 2002. He was 86. He was born in Fulton, N.Y., and moved to Arizona from New York City in 1974. He was a retired police lieutenant and served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Sara; daughter, Gail of Mesa; son, Jonathan of Mesa; sister, Ann Ostrow of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Andrew Straus officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Hadassah Valley of the Sun, 7000 E. Shea Blvd, #250, Scottsdale 85254.



Marian Fabry

Marian S. Fabry of Scottsdale died April 9, 2002. She was 90. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., and moved to Arizona in 1984. She was a homemaker, a life member of B'nai Jehudah and past president of their sisterhood, a member of Brandeis University National Women's Committee and a member of National Council of Jewish Women.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty Meyer of Scottsdale, and Carolyn Friedman of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Kansas City. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.
