Lecture about Polish response to Jews

"The Polish Response to Neighbors," with Jan Gross, will be the subject of the fifth event in the Responses to Trauma lecture series beginning 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix.

Gross, professor of political and European studies at New York University, will discuss his book "Neighbors: The Destruction of the Jewish Community of Jedwabne, Poland," as well as the debate on the fate of Jews during the Nazi occupation and the response of fellow citizens.

The free series is co-sponsored by Beth El Congregation and the Jewish Studies Program of Arizona State University.
