Responses to Trauma

"Israel & The Holocaust: An Uncertain Trauma," with Shai Ginsburg, will be held 11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix. The lecture will examine Hebrew poetry and literature that reflects the loss of relatives and friends during the Holocaust and the continuing debate about its meaning in subsequent decades. Ginsburg is the Jess Schwartz Professor of Modern Hebrew Literature in the Languages and Literatures Department at Arizona State University. He also holds a doctorate in comparative literature from the University of Michigan. The lecture is part of the "Responses to Trauma" Shabbat Lunch and Discussion series held by Beth El Congregation and the Jewish Studies Program of ASU.
