Benjamin Joseph Stern, son of Sheila and Harry Stern of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah March 2, 2002, at Beth El Congregation.

Grandparents are Arlene Schoenfeld of Phoenix; the late Samuel Schoenfeld; Carla Stern of Los Angeles; and the late Erwin Stern.

Great-grandparents are the late Julia and Maurice Karch; and the late Freida and Louis Schoenfeld.

Benjamin attends Desert Foothills Junior High School. His hobbies include computers, reading and participating in the Boy Scouts.



Jacquelyn Elizabeth Manson, daughter of Carol Manson and Roy Manson, both of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah March 2, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Betty Bergman of Lake Oswego, Ore.; the late Norman Bergman; and the late Rita and Jack Manson.

Jacquelyn attends Sunrise Middle School. Her hobbies include shopping, computer games, going to the movies and talking online.

For her mitzvah project, Jacquelyn worked as a counselor assistant for one month.



Matthew David Gorajczyk, son of Allie and John Gorajczyk of Scottsdale, will become a bar mitzvah March 2, 2002, at Temple Solel.

Grandparents are Dorothy and John Gorajczyk of Mesa; and the late Lillian and Herman Horn.

Matthew attends Sunrise Middle School. His hobbies include sports and music.

For his mitzvah project, Matthew volunteered, made donations, tutored students and studied the Torah.



Samantha Gabriel Katz, daughter of Cindy and Jeffrey Katz of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah March 2, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Sheila and Harold Katz of Laguna Woods, Calif; Judith Katz and Marion Weinzweig, both of Phoenix; and the late Sol Weinzweig.

Samantha attends Shea Middle School. Her hobbies include art, theater, Judo, singing and animation.

For her mitzvah project, Samantha helped supply food to the homeless at St. Vincent De Paul.



Justin Blake Hanania, son of Barbara and Joel Hanania of Cave Creek, will become a bar mitzvah March 2, 2002, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Rachel and David Hanania of Boca Raton, Fla.; and Miriam and Jack Smith of Tamarac, Fla.
