International conference at ASU

"Aftermath: An International Conference on European Jewry Immediately After the Shoah" is the topic of a free conference sponsored by the Jewish Studies Program of Arizona State University Sunday, Feb. 10, and Monday, Feb. 11, at the Memorial Union on the main campus of Arizona State University in Tempe. Presentations will begin 9:30 a.m. both days and will include "Jews in Post War Ukraine," "The Jewish Community in Post War France," "The Reclamation of Yiddish Culture" and "Constructing the Memory of Polish Jewry."

Speakers include Zachary Baker of Stanford University, Daniel Blatman of Hebrew University, Michael Shapiro of the University of Illinois and Joel Gereboff of ASU. Conference participants may seek accommodations at the Tempe Marriott Courtyard, 601 S. Ash Ave.
