Rabbi Alan Berlin of Temple Solel has been elected to the board of directors of the Pacific Association of Reform Rabbis (PARR). PARR is a regional division of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, an organization representing Reform rabbis worldwide.

The Jewish National Fund has elected the following officers: Burton Kruglick, president; Leatrice Nach and Marc Kelman, vice presidents; Steve Freidkin, treasurer; Dan Abrams, secretary; and Steve Scheiner is past president. The following have been elected to the board of directors of the Jewish National Fund-Phoenix: Vicki Cabot, Joani Frankel, Donald Lubin and Steven Stalser.

Dan Abrams, vice president of Abrams Realty and Management and chairman of the Camelback Road Coalition of Business and Property owners, has taken over as general chairman for the Phoenix State of Israel Bonds Campaign. Other members of the executive committee include Burton Kruglcik, vice chairman; Steve Scheiner, vice chairman; Mark Kelman, prime minister club and note financing chairman; Steven Kaplan, commerce and industry co-chairman; Dan Bock, new leadership chairman; Pearle Marr, annual spring event chairwoman; Jeannette Flom, immediate past chairwoman; and Robert Mautner, immediate past chairman. The general cabinet members are Sheldon Roth, commerce and industry cochairman; Rachelle Leibsohn, women's division chairwoman; Ray Lubing, Northwest Valley chairman; Mel Myland, cash collections chairman; Raymond Perlman, synagogue campaign chairman; Herman Brown, Jay Bycer, Joyce Geyser, Jeff Hoodin, Risa Mallin, Albert Plotkin, Joseph Roth, Terry Taubman and Patsy Weber.

Ten Maricopa County women were named honorees in the YWCA's Tribute to Women 2002 Awards in recognition of their lives and accomplishments in the mission to empower women and eliminate racism. Honorees were Debbie Gaby, Luz Sarmina-Gutierrez, Mary Kim Titla, Tona Cohen, Elaine Maimon, Rochelle Balch, Sue Sisley, Elizabeth Finn, Christine Marin and Billie Harris. In addition, Marissa Theisen was honored with the YWCA's Dorothy Willey Award in recognition of her long-time dedication to the organization.

California Pizza Kitchen has opened its fourth location at Desert Ridge Marketplace, at 21001 N. Tatum Blvd. and Loop 101 in Phoenix. The restaurant features barbecue chicken pizza, hearth-baked pizzas, pasta, salad, soup and sandwiches.
