Israeli art festivalA festival of Israeli art and culture, featuring a comprehensive collection of original oil paintings, watercolors, original lithographs and etchings, will take place Jan. 31-Feb. 3 at Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix.Exhibits include work by more than 100 Israeli artists, brought to the festival by the Safari Gallery of Jerusalem. A community preview will take place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, and an invitation-only gala patron reception 7-10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. The exhibit will be open 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1. "An Elegant Evening of the Arts," featuring a free performance by Cantor Marc Philippe followed by a dessert reception, takes place 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. The festival continues 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, with guest speaker Dr. Sabi Shabtai, internationally recognized authority on terrorism, speaking at 11 a.m., courtesy of Israel Bonds.
