Dana Shoshana Arbel, daughter of Ana and Michael Arbel of Phoenix, became a bat mitzvah Jan. 12, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Irene and Oscar Levinton of Buenos Aires, Argentina; Yudith Arbel of Kiriat Ono, Israel; the late Shoshana Kulcsar; and the late Gabriel Arbel.

Dana attends Desert Shadows Middle School. Her hobbies are sports, music and spending time with friends.

For her mitzvah project, Dana prepared meals at the Paradise Valley Food Bank and the Watkins Overflow Homeless Shelter.



Ilan Benjamin LaBelle Aviram, son of Ellen LaBelle and Itzik Aviram, both of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 19, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Natalie and Leonard LaBelle of Scottsdale; Rachel Aviram of Mivasseret Tzion, Israel; and the late Michael Aviram.

For his mitzvah project, Ilan volunteered at the Child Crisis Nursery supporting and encouraging children at risk of abuse or homelessness.

Candice M. Flath, daughter of Esther and Mark Flath of Glendale, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 19, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Lois and Robert Flath of Scottsdale; and Charles Mufson of Freeport, N.Y.

For her mitzvah project, Candice helped gather food, clothing and other donations for a shelter for runaway teens.



Trevor Andrew Harvey, son of Marsha and Brian Harvey of Chandler, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 19, 2002, at Temple Emanuel.

Grandparents are Rhoda and Aaron Edelman of Columbus, Ohio; and Margaret and Tony Harvey of Surrey, England.

Great-grandparent is Elaine Falk of London.

Trevor attends Anderson Junior High School. His hobbies include soccer, drumming and watching English soccer.



Madison Rachel Laurie, daughter of Dan Laurie of Phoenix and the late Laura Laurie, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 19, 2002, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Ruth and Jerry Laurie of Phoenix; C. Randall Bain of Scottsdale; and the late Lois Bain.

Annie Hirsch Roos, daughter of Cindy Hirsch and Robert Roos of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 19, 2002, at Beth El Congregation.

Grandparents are Fay and Nestor Roos of Tucson; and the late Gloria and Bob Hirsch.
