ObituariesDavid Darren BarzilaiDavid Darren Barzilai, age 25, passed away January 4, 2002 in Seattle, Washington where he lived for the past two years. He was born in Chicago, lived in Naperville, Illinois and moved to Phoenix where he lived for 20 years. He was a graduate of Thunderbird High School in Phoenix and the University of Arizona in Tucson. For the past two years, he was associated with Microsoft of Seattle as the Lead Program Manager of their Internet Decisions Support Systems Group.He was the loving son of Linda and Elias Barzilai, cherished brother of Aaron and Jessica Barzilai and treasured grandson of Esther Barzilai and Mollie Doman. Also, he was a beloved nephew, cousin, friend and colleague. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Donald David Doman and Pepo Barzilai. Funeral services were held January 10th in Sinai Mortuary Chapel, 4538 N. 16th St. in Phoenix. Contributions in his memory are requested to Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Shirley GiblenShirley Giblen, age 76, passed away January 5, 2002 in Glendale, Arizona. She was born in New York City and moved to Phoenix 23 years ago. For 16 years she owned and operated Shirley's Shop, a ladies' sportswear business. She is survived by her sons Douglas (Georgeta) Giblen and Gary (Ana Maria) Giblen; sister Eleanor Grodzinsky; and granddaughter Olivia. Memorial services were held Tuesday, January 8th, in Sinai Mortuary Chapel, 4538 N. 16th St., in Phoenix. Contributions in her memory are requested to the Arizona Lung Association, 102 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003.David GlaserDavid Glaser, On the morning of January 8, 2002, the family of David Glaser lost its best friend, a loving husband, a wonderful father and a doting grandfather. The world lost a warm, humble, genuine and compassionate man, a visionary in the health care and rehabilitation of America's older adults. David Glaser was a unique and special man who consistently set examples for others on being a truly wonderful human being.David's passing is mourned by his wife Davie; children Lewis (Bonnie), Marci (Neil) and Seth; grandchildren Ali, Lauren and Spencer; mother Adele; sister Tema Rinchey; in-laws Anne and Paul Hochberg; sister-in-law Enid (Michael) Seiden as well as dear family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Solel, 6805 E. McDonald Dr. in Paradise Valley. Milton LinderMilton Joseph Linder of Phoenix died Jan. 5, 2002. He was 79. He was born in Poland and moved to Arizona in 1963 from Massachusetts. He was a retired senior engineer and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Beth El Congregation and Jewish War Veterans.Survivors include his wife, Shirley; daughter, Kathy Graham of Glendale; son, Norman of Moorepark, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Michael Wasserman officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Hospice of Arizona Inpatient Unit at Bryan's Extended Care, 9155 N. Third St., Phoenix 85020. Pearl SchillerPearl Schiller of Phoenix died Jan. 8, 2002. She was born in Russia and moved to Arizona in 1967 from Missouri. She was a homemaker.Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Karfeld and Sandy Turner, both of Phoenix; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at Beth El Cemetery, with Rabbi Michael Wasserman officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. |
