Ronald Lauder was unanimously re-elected as president of the Jewish National Fund last month. Lauder, first elected to president of the JNF after more than a decade of support and involvement in the organization, will continue to focus on fund raising for Israel.

Paul Firstenberg has been named executive director of American ORT. Fir-stenberg, a lawyer by profession, joins the organization with experience in all aspects of philanthropic enterprise, including the areas of executive, trustee, advisor, author and teacher. American ORT raises funds to support technical and technological training for more than 300,000 students in nearly 60 countries. ORT is also the Jewish world's leader in technology education and the world's largest non-governmental education and training organization.

Stephen Anthony has become an associate of Sacks Tierney Law Firm. Anthony's practice will focus in the areas of construction law and commercial litigation. He will also be a member of the firm's litigation group.

Bud LaCombe has become president of Sofin, Inc., a mortgage financing company. LaCombe will oversee all daily functions at the national headquarters, located in Phoenix, and the Midwest regional headquarters, located in Novi, Mich.

Two Fennemore Craig attorneys were the recipients of the Maricopa County Bar Association Law Student Award and Outstanding Volunteer in the Young Lawyer Division Award. Associate Anne Wurth received the MCBA award in recognition of academic excellence, high standards of ethics and community service. Associate Susan Wissink received the YLD award for her long-time active role as a member of the MCBA's YLD and involvement in committees and projects.

Former Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge Roberto Montiel has joined Fennemore Craig's Nogales office and will provide mediation services to clients.

Julianne Blumenreich and Timothy Kasparek have recently joined the legal firm Sanders & Parks, located at 3030 N. Third St., Suite 1300, Phoenix. Blumenreich practices in the area of commercial litigation and was formerly the deputy county attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Phoenix. Kasparek concentrates his practice in professional liability, products liability, insurance coverage, construction law, OSHA and commercial litigation.

Fry's Food & Drug Stores has opened a new location at 4815 E. Carefree Highway, Phoenix.
