Dana Shoshana Arbel, daughter of Ana and Michael Arbel of Phoenix, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 12, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Irene and Oscar Levinton of Buenos Aires, Argentina; the late Shoshana Kukgar; and the late Gabriel Arbel.

Dana attends Desert Shadows Middle School. Her hobbies are sports, music and spending time with friends.

For her mitzvah project, Dana prepared meals at the Paradise Valley Food Bank and the Watkins Overflow Homeless Shelter.



Brandon Louis Ehrenreich, son of Julie and Jim Ehrenreich of Phoenix, will become a bar mitzvah Jan. 12, 2002, at Temple Beth Israel.

Grandparents are Sue and Jack Koslow of Cave Creek; and Pat and Jerry Zack and Terri and Art Ehrenreich, all of Phoenix.

Great-grandparents are Ann Zack of Scottsdale; the late Louis Zack; the late Rose and Abe Goldstein; the late Margaret and William Hartzberg; and the late Sara and Ray Ehrenreich.

Brandon attends Explorer Middle School. His hobbies include playing compact discs, video games and computers.



Stephanie Leah Jaffa, daughter of Helen Jaffa and Bill Jaffa, both of Mesa, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 12, 2002, at Temple Beth Sholom.

Grandparents are Marcia and Arthur Simpkins of Westbury, N.Y.; and Doris and Arnold Jaffa of Escondido, Calif.

Stephanie attends Stapley Junior High School. Her hobbies include shopping, reading, writing, bicycling and photography.

For her mitzvah project, Stephanie planned and conducted Shabbat morning services for preschoolers. She also gleaned citrus for a food bank.



Ilyssa Avery Kauffman, daughter of Catherine and Gary Kauffman of Paradise Valley, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 12, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Sylvia and Aaron Kauffman of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; and Marcelite and Frank Troeger of Palos Verdes, Calif.

Great-grandparents are Catherine Ford of Port Hueneme, Calif.; the late Francis Ford; and the late Ida and Harry Kauffman.

For her mitzvah project, Ilyssa volunteered for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure by organizing race numbers and delivering registration forms.



Stephanie Michelle Sherman, daughter of Jodi and Rick Sherman of Scottsdale, will become a bat mitzvah Jan. 12, 2002, at Temple Chai.

Grandparents are Nanean and Al Fann of Scottsdale; and Dorothy and Sol Sherman of Cleveland.

Great-grandparents are Sylvia Mutchnik and Molly Fann, both of Scottsdale.

For her mitzvah project, Stephanie volunteered at the Southwest Autism Research Center and spent time with autistic children during a camp program.
