Obituaries

Ruth Fields

Ruth Fields of Scottsdale died Nov. 27, 2001. She was 82. She was born in Dallas and moved to Arizona in 1993 from Denver. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hadassah, C.A.R.I.H. and B'nai B'rith.

Survivors include her daughters, Shari Cohen of Paradise Valley and Sandra; son, Stephen; sister, Jean Susman of Denver; brother, Sidney Lane of Fort Worth, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Services were held in Denver. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Temple Solel, 6805 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley 85253; or Arizona Humane Society, 9226 N. 13th Ave., Phoenix 85021.



Sidney M. Kogan

Sidney M. Kogan age 83, passed away December 1, 2001 at home in Phoenix. He was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Phoenix 56 years ago. He was a retired teacher for the Phoenix Union High School District. He taught religious school for Temple Beth Israel for many years. He served with the United States Air Force during WWII and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans Post #194. He was a member of Temple Beth Israel and B'nai B'rith.

Survivors include his wife Sylvia; sons, Jeffrey (Judy) and Stuart (Debbie); brothers, Irving (Esther) and Sheldon (Ellen); and grandchildren, Brian, Alysa and Jessica. Memorial services were held Tuesday, December 4th at Sinai Mortuary Chapel in Phoenix. Contributions in his memory are requested to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
