'Raw Kaballah' continues to attract young adults

Nearly 300 young adults attended the second "Raw Kaballah" Shabbat service Nov. 2 at Beth El Congregation in Phoenix.

The first event drew nearly 450, say organizers.

"It was nice to see some new faces and we feel encouraged by the fact that we have such a nice group that returned and expect them to continue to return," says co-founder Dan Siegel. "Any event that is relatively new to the community that has this kind of attendance on a regular basis will continue to be special."

Raw Kaballah blends music, dancing, prayer and refreshments to provide Jewish adults, ages 20-40, with a monthly meeting place.

Both evenings featured the musical group Milot Ha'Nefesh of Los Angeles and Israeli dancing led by David Paletz.

Rabbi Peter Levi of Temple Chai was the guest rabbi and spoke about spirituality.

The next service is Dec. 7 at Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Ave.
