People on the move

Rabbi Barton Lee of Hillel at Arizona State University plans to leave on Sabbatical after Thanksgiving and return in mid-March. Lee's research will include work on Derekh Eretz (gracious and moral conduct), including translation, writing and preparation of translated texts for publication. Other projects will deal with the use of primary texts in the teaching of American Jewish history and work on the writings of Jakob J. Petuchowski. He will frequently travel to Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati and will work in Tempe. Administrative Coordinator Shotsy Abramson will be the acting director in Lee's absence.

The Phoenix Holocaust Survivors' Association has elected 2001/2002 officers. Officers include David Kader, president; Helen Handler, first generation vice president; Anna Cohen, second generation vice president; Paul Wieser, recording secretary; Carl Ofisher, corresponding secretary; and Pat Bruner, treasurer. Other officers include Harry Adler, Ella Adler, Stephen Lerman, Clare Lerman, Joan Sitver, Deborah Israel, Lea Morgenstern, Helen Rubenzik and Judy Searle.

The College of Fine Arts at Arizona State University will induct Shelley Cohn into its Hall of Fame. Carol Linch has been elected to a three-year term as national president of Women's American ORT. Linch has served as first vice president and treasurer of the national organization.

Maxine Marshall, cofounder and vice president of The Marshall Fund of Arizona, will be inducted into Arizona State University's College of Liberal Arts and Science Hall of Fame.
