Israel film festival

"Visions of the Past," Arizona State University's fourth annual Israeli Film Festival, hosted by the ASU Jewish Studies Program, takes place Nov. 5-8 at the ASU main campus.

"New Land," a 1994 film about a brother and sister arriving alone in the new country of Israel after World War II, runs at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the Language & Literature building, room 002.

"Women," a 1996 film set in the old city of Jerusalem at the end of the 19th-century, runs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the same location.

Student films will be shown 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, in the Architecture building, room 113. "Because of that War," a 1988 story that follows the struggles of two families of Holocaust survivors, will show at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the same location.

"There Was No War in '72," a 1996 coming-of-age tale set in the days following the Six Day War, runs 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Language & Literature building, room 002.

All films have English subtitles. Discussions follow each screening. Call 480-727-6906.
